I met Marco and Valentina in the early morning of a Saturday in late August, exactly one week before their wedding.
I had suggested they book a pre-wedding photoshoot, to get used to the presence of their wedding photographer, and, after thinking about it for a few days, they had accepted, and had suggested we do the pre-wedding photoshoot in Bolsena, with the background view of the famous lake, because it was a familiar place for them and held many memories too.
In the two hours we spent in the alleys of this delightful village in Latium, we found many very nice corners where they could pose, and I also had the opportunity to take candid photos of this very young couple.
Two young people full of enthusiasm, ready to make plans for the future.
Two young people in love, always smiling, totally at ease in front of the camera.
Indeed, I would say they were, completely spontaneous and unperturbed by the presence of a wedding photographer. They looked like they owned the world!
A pre-wedding photoshoot is an option I always recommend prospective spouses should book in addition to their wedding photography package.
It is not automatically included because I like the bride and groom to freely decide upon it. Also, as far as destination weddings are concerned, couples may spend a limited number of days in Italy and there may not be time for another photoshoot before the actual wedding day (well…just stay in Italy longer….!!!).
However, I will never get tired of stressing how important it is for prospective spouses to have a pre-wedding photoshoot.
Not only is it the opportunity to have professional photos taken and show their love bond as a couple before the wedding, but it becomes a way for the three of us to get to know each other so the spouses can familiarize with the photographer and get used to his/her (my) presence.
Presence that will be fundamental for those memorable shots taken during their big day!!
