A PRE-WEDDING PHOTOSHOOT IN UMBRIA FOR A LOVELY IRISH-ITALIAN COUPLE

An afternoon with Paola and Robert the Frontone Gardens in Perugia

Paola and Robert's wedding day was going to be in  July, so we arranged to have a pre-wedding photoshoot a few months earlier since they would be traveling to Italy from their home in Ireland for a friend's wedding in Spring.

Paola suggested we did the photoshoot at the the Frontone Gardens in Perugia, the capital city of Umbria, which she really liked, therefore that was where we met one afternoon at the end of May.

We had been worried about the weather, as even though it wasn’t rainy on that particular day, it had been raining a lot during the whole of the week.
Nonetheless we decided to go ahead anyway, hoping the weather would get better.

I remember it was rather dull when we started taking these photos.  Did it matter? No way! The light coming from the emotions of two people who are about to get married can definitely surpass the dullness of a grey sky. It was in their eyes, in the way they looked at each other, in the bond revealed by how they embraced or held hands.

Also, the weather did get better in the end... So here are their pictures, full of vibrant colours.

I will never be tired of stressing the importance of a pre-wedding/engagement photoshoot.  This is the greatest  opportunity for the spouses and the photographer, to get to know each other before the wedding. And, my opinion is, as a bride is usually quite confident in front of a camera while a groom isn't, a pre-wedding photoshoot is an excellent means to convince the groom that the photographer is not the enemy..

A pre-wedding photoshoot is an excellent way to break the ice and familiarize with your photographer, and, of course, to receive some lovely photos of the two of you.  You will need two hours, you may want to consider this length of time as an investment towards your wedding.

I offer a pre-wedding photoshoot at a discounted price when booked together with your wedding photography package.  Contact me for details :)

By the way, Paola and Robert's wedding day was a totally different matter, on possibly the sunniest and hottest Saturday  of 2023… but this is another story.. stay tuned
