This was a magnificent close to an incredibily busy wedding season.
A beautiful sunny morning at the end of November was the setting for Catherine and David's Wedding in the Church of the Santissimo Nome di Maria, right in the centre of Rome, next to the Trajan Forum.
The Scottish groom wore a traditional tartan kilt and the Irish bride had chosen a bridal gown with thin shoulder straps and a long train; of course they didn't take any notice of the biting cold wind that blew strongly on their Wedding Day, and only commented that it would definitely be much colder back home.
As I have often noticed, love knows no season!
Catherine and David chose an intimate ceremony recited in English, where the traditional lighting of candles both before and after the exchange of rings played a leading role.
At the end of the ceremony they got into a chauffer driven vintage Fiat 500, and reached the Colosseum and the Fontana dell'Acqua Paola (the Big Fountain), a classic destination for photos of the newlyweds in Rome where the wind had fun playing with the bride's veil..
Back to their Rome Hotel, they danced in the huge hall with a magnificent Christmas tree in the background.
