My name is Maria Giulia, I am a wedding photographer based in Orvieto, in the quiet hills of Umbria, somewhere between Rome and Florence.
I have always been more interested in people than in events - although I do have a weakness for a good pop concert.
Weddings, for all their beauty, are made of moments that do not repeat themselves: a hesitation before a vow, a glance that lasts half a second, a gesture that was never planned and never will be again.
Those are the things I pay attention to.
My story is far from being unusual. I was given my first camera for my First Communion and immediately started photographing everything - family members, animals, flowers that had done nothing to deserve it.
It never quite stopped.
Over time I studied photography properly - portrait, fashion, weddings - but what stayed constant was my curiosity about people. Not just what they look like, but what they are like.
That is still what interests me most.
I was born in Umbria, but I have lived elsewhere - including several years in London, which is an excellent place to learn how large and varied the world can be.
Eventually, I came back.
These days, when I am not working, I divide my time between old films, novels, chocolate (non-negotiable), and the occasional pop concert - preferably somewhere with good acoustics and no unnecessary drama.
Over the years I have found myself working more and more with couples who organise their wedding with a certain clarity.
Not necessarily smaller. Not necessarily simpler.
Just intentional.
Two hours. Four hours. Enough time, when used properly.

I offer focused coverage for weddings and elopements across Umbria, Rome and Tuscany. I work calmly, I give direction when it is useful and step back when it is not.
No performance is required.
I photograph large weddings as well as intimate ones. The scale is never the point.
What matters is that something real is happening, that is worth documenting properly.
I take on a limited number of weddings each year, not out of mystery, but because attention has its limits - and I prefer to use it well.
If you decide to work with me, you will find someone reliable, observant and quietly persistent in making sure that what mattered to me on the day remains visible afterwards.

Italy provides the setting.
The rest, we handle together.
